EMR Incentives
Healthcare is one of the last industries that has not
fully embraced the power of the information age through technology. While
physicians are overloaded with information, they have not adopted electronic
medical records with a centralized database to improve the overall efficiency of
the healthcare industry.
The Federal Government and some insurers are now
providing programs including money to increase the adoption rate of EMR. In
fact, a recent CMS study indicates that he Government expects the adoption
rate among physicians for electronic medical records will increase from 12% in
2009 to over 90% by 2019!
So what incentives are available?
